Hörmann is a German door manufacturer, and its residential steel garage doors are one of the lines we supply and install for homes in Mississauga and across Ontario. If you’re replacing an old door or finishing a new build, we can bring Hörmann options alongside doors from Steel-Craft and Amarr so you can compare them side by side.

What to compare between models

Most of the difference between garage door models comes down to insulation and construction, and those matter more than the name on the brochure.

If the garage is heated, or there’s a bedroom above it, an insulated door with a higher R-value keeps the cold out and cuts noise. A door with steel on both faces and insulation sandwiched between holds up better to dents than a single steel skin. After that it’s panel style, colour and windows, which are what people see from the street.

How the install works

We measure the opening first, then order the door in your size. On install day we take the old door down, put up the new sections and track, and set the springs for the new door’s weight. If your opener is old or noisy, we can replace it at the same visit. See garage door openers.
