Which opener fits your garage
- Belt drive openers are the quietest. They’re the one we suggest when there’s a bedroom over the garage.
- Chain drive openers cost less and last a long time. They’re louder, so they suit detached garages.
- Screw drive openers need less maintenance than chain or belt units.
- Jackshaft openers mount on the wall beside the door and turn the torsion bar directly, which frees up the ceiling.
- Battery backup keeps the door working in a power outage. We recommend it on every home install.
- Wi-Fi openers let you open, close and check the door from your phone.
Horsepower matters too. A 1/2 HP motor handles most residential doors, and heavy or oversized doors need 3/4 HP.
What an install includes
We take the old opener away, assemble the rail, mount the brackets and set the trolley. Then we install and align the safety sensors and program your remotes and keypad. Wi-Fi models get connected to the app. Before we leave, the door gets a full safety test.
Opener repair
The calls we get most: the motor runs but the door doesn’t move, the door reverses before it closes, the remote stopped working, or the opener grinds. We carry replacement parts and circuit boards, so a lot of fixes happen on the first visit. If the problem is the door itself, our garage door repair team handles that.
