New builds in north Oshawa

North Oshawa has grown fast, with new subdivisions in Windfields and Kedron and up toward the 407. A brand-new home comes with the builder’s door and opener, and the first few years can turn up problems that weren’t set right at install: a door that won’t close all the way, an opener that reverses for no clear reason, or safety sensors knocked out of line. Most of these are adjustments, not new parts.

Older homes in central Oshawa

Closer to downtown, in neighbourhoods like Centennial, McLaughlin and O’Neill, houses are older and garages are more likely to be detached, with older doors on extension springs. When one of those doors needs more than a spring, we’ll tell you if a replacement makes more sense. Our garage door repair page covers the repairs we do.

Replacing a door

If the door is past fixing, we measure the opening and quote a new one: insulated steel, carriage-style, or aluminum and glass, from Steel-Craft, Amarr and Hörmann, with LiftMaster openers to match. Styles are on our residential garage doors page.

Plants and warehouses

Oshawa grew up around car manufacturing, and there are still plenty of plants, suppliers and warehouses in the city. We install and repair sectional overhead doors, rolling steel doors and dock equipment, and can schedule maintenance for doors that run every shift. More on our overhead doors page.

How booking works

Our shop is at 4120 Ridgeway Drive in Mississauga, on the far side of Toronto from Oshawa. We don’t have an Oshawa office, so don’t count on a same-day visit. Call, tell us what the door is doing and where you are, and we’ll give you a date. You get the price before any work starts.

Questions from Oshawa homeowners

My new garage door won’t close all the way. What’s wrong?

Often the opener’s close limit is set short, or the safety sensors are slightly out of line. Check that both sensor lights are steady. If they are and the door still stops short, the limits need adjusting. Call us if you’d rather not touch it.

Is a builder’s door worth upgrading?

If it works, there’s no rush. Most people upgrade for insulation or looks. If the garage is attached and cold, an insulated door is the change you’ll notice most.

Do you fix commercial overhead doors in Oshawa?

Yes. We repair and install sectional and rolling steel doors for plants, warehouses and shops.
